Links with Our Church and Other Organisations

All Saints Church

We enjoy our close connection and relationship with All Saints Church in Huthwaite and are grateful to be able to use the church as a special space for regular worship and for important celebrations during the school year.

Rev Charlie Maiden (Vicar), hosts a service in church on a fortnightly basis, when all our children attend and participate in the worship. Families are also encouraged and welcome to come along and join in. Please refer to our monthly newsletter and Our School App Calendar for details regarding forthcoming services.

We delight in our Christian distinctiveness and flourish from the Christian vision and values we hold to – this is experienced in everything we do (please see the School Mission Statement).

The Church also appoints representatives to serve on the School Governors. These governors, as well as other church members, support the school in various practical ways, from assisting reading to leading worship in school.

Alongside our regular visits to the church, our children also attend special services throughout the year, including the Christingle Service, Easter Service and the Harvest Festival. We also attend the church for special performances and gatherings such as the Nativity performances and the End of Year 2 Graduation Service.

Christian Values For Curriculum

The Crackpot Company

The Crackpot Company is a primary school assembly team made up of Christian volunteers who visit local primary schools to deliver bible stories in an exciting and engaging way.

We are lucky enough to be able to invite The Crackpot Company to All Saints twice every year. Here are some photographs of our children enjoying the latest Crackpot visit.

Godly Play

Godly Play takes children’s spirituality seriously. It is an imaginative approach to spiritual nurture through story, wondering, and play. The Godly Play approach to wonder is something that has been particularly beneficial in allowing children the space to think and propose ideas. It has been such a useful tool that we have adopted this in other areas of our curriculum and daily practice.

We offer all of our children a Godly Play session half each term, led by Tracy Mann (our trained member of staff).

Saints Alive

Saints Alive is a group of local Christian volunteers who come into our school every half term to lead us in whole-school worship. As part of this worship, the children are able to express their spirituality through songs and activities led by the Saints Alive team.

The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham

As a church school we belong to the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and work closely with diocesan colleagues.

We were pleased to welcome Bishop Tony for lunch on Monday, 16th December 2019.  He joined our Collective Worship and presented copies of his book, ‘Chips’, to all our children.
